What if my cat needs veterinary treatment? We take your vet's details when booking and ask you to disclose any existing or recent medical conditions. In the event of illness, we use either your vet, the local vet or the out-of-hours vet clinic. We will always try and let you or your emergency contacts know if your cat should become ill. Please let us know if your cat has FIV. In an emergency, we will take your cat to the nearest vet and all costs will be added to your final bill and will be your responsibility. My cat requires daily medication, is this a problem? We are happy to administer daily medication including diabetic injections free of charge. All medication must be in its original package with the cats name, dosage instructions and prescribing veterinary details. We may not be able to administer medications to cats that are aggressive or overly difficult and in this instance, we suggest you use a cattery that is attached to a veterinary clinic.
My cat is long-haired, do you groom? Yes, we do. Maintenance grooming is included for any cat that enjoys it, or for long-haired cats that need it. Please bring your cats brush from home. Grooming an excessively matted coat can be difficult as it can be a painful procedure. If your cat does have excessive heavy matting we suggest you book them into your vet where they can be administered with a sedative and painkiller if needed.
My cat is very nervous, I'm worried it won't cope? Most cats settle in very quickly but we are experienced at dealing with those who require extra reassurance. Having worked with many rescue cats before we are sensitive to the fact that there are some pets out there who have had a bad start in life and need their own space to feel comfortable. Some cats crave attention and will get plenty of it, but the nervous & elderly tend to prefer to be left to themselves and we respect that. We allocate them the quieter units, provide boxes for them to hide in and keep disturbances to a minimum. To help your cat settle we suggest you bring along an item from home that will smell familiar, such as a throw, dressing gown or even an old gardening jumper.
My cat is a fussy eater, is this a problem? No, not at all. Cats are fed twice daily with dry feed, and once daily with wet feed and receive occasional treats. We carry Some wet feed and kibble however if your cat is a fussy eater or has a specific taste you may bring in your cats preferred food. We do not carry Veterinary Prescription food so owners must bring in enough to last the whole stay.
